I am serious. I certainly agree some changes to the Earth would not be good for us. But the natural state certainly isn't either. Adding cities and roads and sky scrapers has served us well. I'll be happy to see a lot more of those.
I don't think it's reasonable to evaluate whether a change is good based on a conception of whether that is the way natured wanted it. *That* is essentially theism. I think we should evaluate whether a change is good based on the expected effects for humans, and their desirability to humans.
